Homemade Pest Control

One of the best ways to use essential oils is, believe it or not, to mop the floors. The cool part is that with the right combination of oils, you get the added bonus of a natural pest control treatment. How cool is that? Just fill your mop bucket with 1 1/2 gallons of water, about 1/2 a cup of vinegar and a dash of dish soap. Next, mix in 6 drops of Lemongrass essential oil, 6 drops of lavender essential oil and 6 drops of peppermint essential oil. Now you’re ready to mop the floors and be sure to clean the baseboards too (pests love baseboards). This all natural floor cleaner and its combination of oils will help deter all of those pesky ants, spiders and beetles. Best of all, you’re left with a wonderful fragrance where ever you mop.
